Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse is coming to Netflix! The streaming service has greenlit Shadow and Bone, a fantasy television series from Bird Box and Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer that will combine Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy and Six of Crows duology into one serialized narrative.
You heard that right—the series will combine Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, Ruin and Rising, Six of Crows, and Crooked Kingdom. To echo Bardugo on Twitter, all the murder babies and saints FTW:

Here’s how Deadline describes the series, which will start with an eight-episode first season:
In a world cleaved in two by a massive barrier of perpetual darkness, where unnatural creatures feast on human flesh, a young soldier uncovers a power that might finally unite her country. But as she struggles to hone her power, dangerous forces plot against her. Thugs, thieves, assassins and saints are at war now, and it will take more than magic to survive.
Heisserer shared his excitement for the project on Twitter:

Heisserer, who created and wrote the series, will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Bardugo will also be an EP alongside Pouya Shahbazian (the Divergent series) and Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) of production company 21 Laps Entertainment.
